Molly Ann Gries passed away on May 4th, 2015 when she was placed in a crib with blankets in it. Molly was ten weeks old. As her parents, we knew we needed to do something to let Molly’s legacy live on and help other families avoid our nightmare. We started the Molly Ann Gries Foundation to help educate others on the importance of safe sleep. The Molly Ann WOD is a way to further that message, while remembering our sweet Molly.



THE WOD:
10 rounds for time:

alone | 15 air squats
Back | 5 burpee box jumps (24”/20”)
crib | 4 cleans (155/105)



Molly was 10 weeks old when she died, giving the WOD its 10 rounds. Our safe sleep message can be broken down into ABC: Alone, Back, Crib which inspired the Air squats, Burpee box jumps and Cleans. To learn more about safe sleep, click here.


How to Participate:

  • Join us on May 4th at Crossfit Saol to participate in the WOD.
    Sign up for a heat time below. New to Crossfit? The WOD can be scaled to any fitness level! The cost is free but you’re invited to make a donation to the foundation through the website or at the event.

  • Can’t make it to Crossfit Saol? Host the event at your own box!
    We won’t be using WODArena, but we would love to have other gyms remembering Molly and learning about safe sleep with us!

  • Purchase a shirt.
    Shirts will ONLY be available through March 31st. We will have a limited quantity available for purchase at the event.

  • Donate!
